Since i'm an A Level film student, who wants to work in movies when i'm older. I feel it's necessary to watch films in order to have a better understanding of why they are popular, or why they are a certain genre, amongst other things we Film Explorers look out for. Unfortunately, sometimes this means having to endure hour and a half long droning pieces of utter boredom in the sake of knowledge.
The film I am talking about, apparently already huge in America and "set to take the UK by storm" is High School Musical. By now you're either agreeing with me, or you're thinking; "What? How can you not like it?!" And to those of the latter, I say.. How can you LIKE it?
Not only is it a Disney original movie (straight to television.. No, sorry.. Straight to 'The Disney Channel') Which, i'm sorry, immediately sets the standard to very low. But upon watching the film I was so bored I actually became enraged! The narrative is bland and predictable, the acting is wooden, the singing is barely dubbed properly and everything else about the movie is.. Well, very very unoriginal!
I personally, could not stand this film. I will never watch it again, and the only reason I have to be glad about watching it the first time is so that I can hate it in an informed way. I advise you.. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS FILM.
