Today, has been a long day.
You may have heard on the radio (although probably not because the only one I know it was on was Leicester Sound.) That a school was having trouble with kids gone wild. That was our school.
It wasn't me, or any of my friends. It was the stupid little chavs and chavettes of Years 10 and 11 who were "protesting" against the new behavioural system. By "protesting" I mean that at the start of the day when the first bell went, they stood outside the school gates and chanted; "Down with the points system."
(Incidently, I know all of this because today happens to be the day when I have 4 free's. Most of this happened during Periods 1 + 2.)
At first it was funny. As in; "What the fuck are those stupid little kids doing? Haha, losers." Then after about 20 minutes we started to wonder where all the teachers were, because they'd closed both of the gates and were refusing some late school buses entry to the school, so they had to let the kids out onto the pavement. Then one stupid little child (My friend Jamie Jordan's little brother) grabbed the back of one of the buses, trying to stop it from getting away... The bus driver just accelerated and he fell off. HA!
Then Sue Rothwell (the head) came storming across the yard telling all of the Post 16 students who had free's and were outside watching to go away so that they didn't have an audience. So we went into the Oaks (the post 16 centre) and stood on the tables so we could see out of the windows and watched it from there. Sue was all; "Get them away! i'm calling the police!". After a while we noticed Sue had gone upto the gates so we sneaked back outside and sat on the wall to have a better view. The crowd had started to get cars to honk their horns, and if the cars refused they'd storm them and start hitting the bonnets.
Then two police cars turned up, sirens blazing. Suddenly one of the year 10 boys walked past us and we figured he was giving up until we suddenly realised he had blood pouring down the side of his face. It turns out one of the REALLY stupid "protesters" had thrown a glass bottle at the police car, it bounced off and hit this kid in the head. So an ambulance was called as well. They had eggs and were throwing those at the police and Sue too.
Eventually they managed to talk the stupid kids into coming into college and they massed on the field. Then a riot van showed up and that set off everything again. This all happened within the first two periods.
At break we went and stood with Adam, Jenny and Ian on the stairs near languages. As we walked towards them, Ian opened the glass door and said; "Come and cower behind this glass with us!"
That was the general tone of the teachers. They were all terrified!
I had Film Studies third so I don't know what happened then, I think they got talked into going into the hall and trying to sort out what the hell this was all about. By the time I got to my 3rd free (4th period.) There were 5 police cars and the riot van strewn around. As we sat on the tables near the entrance, doing some work. The huge crowd of "protesters" stormed past us, still chanting; "Down with the points!" By this time; it was fucking irritating. They weren't going to accomplish anything and everyone was just annoyed with them.
Nicola, the science teacher, came upto us after they'd ran through again asking which way they'd gone. We came to the agreement that we should pick the student with the most points in that rabble, shoot them in the kneecaps and then see if anyone still wants to protest.
It had all pretty much died down by lunchtime. We went into Dave's room and watched Big Train. It was fun.
Then my last free, and last lesson I sat at the entrance with Lewis, Nicola, Helen, John and Liam and we noticed this boy hanging around who Lewis was giving dark looks. He looked about 8 and we discovered, after Lewis made us go somewhere else. That he was a gypsy that had been going onto the school buses and mugging people.
Some people are just pathetic.
Anyway, that's been my day at school today. UGH. I hope they all get kicked out.
